All About Formation..

Sorry about the quiet period form blogging, had a lot of personal things going on along with watching my beloved Leicester City win the league!

Lets get back in to things and get on to the next game of our Bishop’s Stortford career…

First up is..

Maidenhead – Home – 19th – 21st – 2-1 Win

We WON! Changed formation to something different, thanks to @ThatFMRegen. We was a completely different team. Played so so much better and got more desire to win the game, despite the stats we dominated pretty much the whole game apart from the last 10 minutes or so. Happy with the performance and the way the lads have reacted to the formation seems to suit them better. Only negatives are conceding a goal and Sellears getting injured for 2 months with a sprained ankle.

Eastbourne – Away – 11th – 15th – 3-3 Draw

After going 3-0 down I thought it was game over, but the lads pulled it out the bag and scored 3 in the second half to take a point home. In an even game and only coming away with a point I am very happy with the lads with the way they cam back and there are many positives to take and situations we can learn from.

Dartford – Home – 15th – 19th – 2-2 Draw

We was the better team and on another day would probably of took our chances and won the game. I’m not too disappointed with a draw as it could of bean much worse and embarrassing although anyone can beat anyone. Slowly slowly things are looking better and we are becoming a better group and grinding out results instead of rolling over and taking the beating. Take our chances more frequently and we will win more games!

Oxford – Away – 3rd – 13th – 1-0 Win

A hit and run! How we won this I will never know, Oxford battered us despite us having more possession. The defence was quality everything that came their way they dealt with and this is the first game in the season that I can actually praise our keeper – Fitzsimons. He looked unbeatable today and I never thought I would say that as he usually makes mistakes which is expected at this level. Unbeaten in 5 in the league!  Delighted to get a win at Oxford!

New Signing – Will Summerfield

The DOF signed Will Summerfield. A young midfielder who can play in a number of positions and roles and will be a long term signing. Having come through MK Dons youth I am hoping he can prove his quality in this league when given game time.

Bath – Home – 12th – 17th – 1-1 Draw

Wasn’t too happy with the point despite it being a pretty evan game and us being higher in the league. Hard to take after they equalized in the 88th minute. Since changing the formation Rowe has stepped up and playing a lot better on the left side. Summerfield had an average debut, don’t expect him to rip up trees just yet as he is only young and got plenty of time to improve and train him up.

Sutton – Home – 13th – 1st – 1-1 Draw

I felt a win was possible against Sutton, having taken a shock but deserved lead we could of kicked on and got another but Sutton equalized and came back at us and maybe could of beat us. Happy to hold 1st to a draw so positives to take away from this game.

So after 17 games we sit 13th..

Having changed the formation we have been unbeaten – 2 wins – 4 draws. Could be better but we are picking up points.

Thanks for reading! It’s going to be a long season but hopefully if we keep going how we are and start taking more chances and possibly bring in one or two players then I believe when can move up and have an outside chance of a play off place. Dilly Ding Dilly Dong!
