New Surroundings Same Results?

First game up today is an FA Trophy second round game against Sutton United who are fighting for top spot in our league.

Sutton – Away – Fa trophy 2nd round – 4 – 0 loss

What a woeful game, despite the stats saying it was an even game it wasn’t. We was shocking! We never looked like scoring or creating anything despite the stats saying we had chances. Could not be angrier at that performance. Sutton looked a class above compared to our boys!

Havant & Waterlooville – Away – 22nd – 10th – 1 – 0 win

Poor performance against a poor team but we grinded out the win whilst trying out a new tactic. Havant deserved more but we had the luck on the day. Players seem to take to the new tactic fairly well. The stats say we dominated and it did feel like we was on top most of the game but they could have easily got something from this.

Gosport – Home – 7th – 21st – 2 – 0 loss

Another game another defeat to a poor team. This team is so inconsistent. We should be beating teams like this fairly easily in theory but we seem to struggle all the time. Disappointed with the result as we are slipping away from the play offs again. Again the stats look fairly even but we was shocking and they thoroughly deserved the win.

Margate – Away – 2nd – 8th – 2 – 0 loss

It’s another game and another piss poor performance! I didn’t expect much against a team battling for top spot but we played awful! We need to start picking up wins and going on a run to get us in to the play offs. I will definitely be making some changes in the summer if i am still here..

Hemel Hempstead  – Home – 8th – 11th – 2 – 0 win

We got a comfortable win against a team we could easily of lost against. The boys turned up today and played superbly. I could not fault them if only they played like this every game! We did look the better team. On a side note Rowe is leaving on a free to Falkirk at the end of the season.

We have left Bishop Stortford and have joined…..

Queen’s Park in Scotland!

They are currently 9th fighting relegation in league two.

It may seem like a step back from Bishop but in reality I wasn’t happy at that club and was getting frustrated with the players and the board. I was probably going to leave or get sacked at the end pf the season anyways, but I seen this move as a challenge and have given myself till the end of the season to see if I can keep them up and I will go from there.  People may not agree with the move but we may only be here for 3 or 4 months anyways and could possibly go back to England. I am excited by this move despite them fighting relegation. Can we stay up? Challenge accepted!

This is the league table –

As you can see its tight at the bottom but get a few wins and we still easily move up the table.

Our first game as Queen’s Park manager is against Elgin who are 8th and a win would see us jump them!

Elgin – Home – 9th – 8th – 3 – 3 draw

In our first game I just wanted to see the players in action and see what we can do with them and playing against the team above us a defeat would be the worse situation. I am happy with a point but could of done better. Can take some positives from the game.

We may need to bring in a couple of players to help bulk the squad up.

Alex McBurnie joins us on loan from Bradford City. A young scottish centre midfielder joins till the end of the season. He won’t play week in week out but he will get game time.

East Stirlinghsire – Home – 9th – 10th – 3 – 0 win

Happy all round with this result. The stats make it look a closer game but it was a game we dominated. I would of cried if we lost to bottom of the league. We looked like such a good side against them. I’m not sure if we are a good team or they are really poor. They did’nt cause us any problems after the first 5 minutes.

So we have moved on from Bishop Stortford and moved up to Scotland with Queen’s Park. I did enjoy my time with them but I don’t think some of the lads had the attitude I was looking for so I will learn from them mistakes and get a group of lads who all have the same mentality and willingness to work for each other – Sounds familiar with my beloved Leicester City! 😉 . We all learn from mistakes and despite us being there or there abouts with the play offs I couldn’t see us getting there. I will probably stick with the tactics I use with the new club but I may try something different. We may be only here a couple of months and move on again or we may stay and kick on with this club. The youth facilities and training facilities are quality for this level and I will hoping to use the youth system.
