Hey guys,

Welcome back to my blog. We are starting our league campaign and cup games in this update as we look to have a successful season.

We kick off the season with two cup games against Albion Rovers and Morton and then start our league games off against Stirling.

Przemyslaw Dachnowicz:

We bring in Polish Under 21 Dachnowicz as our advanced playmaker just behind the two strikers. We have a couple of options already but they have never shown any good performances so we have brought him in. He has good stats for this level and came through Rangers academy.

Carlos Mazana:

Carlos comes in to help boost the number of wingers as we only have 2/3. He can play on either wing and his stats are alright. Hopefully we can train him to improve on his crossing and he will become an asset to the team. He has decent physical stats for the level we are at and he has experience of playing in Scottish football.

Kevin McNaughton:

Kevin comes in with a vast amount of experience behind him and I hope that will help us. We only had Mampuya as our only real right back and he gets booked nearly every game so Kevin comes in as player who will rotate with Mampuya and hopefully tutor one of youngsters.

Joe Caldwell:

Not really a new signing but we bring Joe in from the Under 20’s. His finishing at 16 is far better than any of the strikers we have at the club and I know his stats are pretty awful but his finishing will make up for that in most situations and still only being 18 he has a good chance of improving massively.

We lose our best striker to Dunfermline. I am disappointed to see him leave as I felt he could of helped push us on to that next level but our other strikers will have to step up and deliver for us now he has left.

Josh Jeffries:

We also lose Josh to Dunfermline on deadline day. He is a player who I’m sad to see go as he has potential but he has never really delivered on a regular basis for us. He shown glimpses of what he can do but never enough to cement his place in the team.

Albion Rovers – Home – Petrofac Training Cup First Round

A comfortable win for us against Albion as we controlled the game. We did look better in the first half. A solid win and happy to progress to the next round. Mampuya got his first goal for us in this game.

Cup Draw..

The draw sees us go up against Airdie from the league above. An opportunity for us to progress further in this cup.

Morton – Home – League Cup First Round

Morton ended our hopes of going further by knocking us out in extra time. We played well all game and I feel we could of and probably should of won the game. I am disappointed not to of been able to hold on but Morton did kick in to another gear in the second half. The stats show it was a pretty one sided game when in reality we was the team on top for most of the game.

Stirling – Home – League – 9th V 10th

We kick off our league campaign with a draw against Stirling. A quiet first half which in turn meant there was not much action in front of either goal. A pretty even game in which we should of won had we not conceded in injury time.

Elgin City – Away – League – 3rd V 6th

We get our first win of the season against Elgin. A quiet first from both sides but we got the winning goal just after half time thanks to Caldwell on his debut. Our DOF brought in a keeper on trial. He made his debut in this game but he chose not to sign for us after his 4 week trial.

East Fife – Away – League – 6th V 3rd

We got revenge on East Fife for when they beat us in the play-offs last season. We got an early goal straight from kick off thanks to Caldwell who later went on to get his second. McNaughton made his debut in this game and had a solid game.

Airdrie – Away – Petrofac Training Cup Second Round

A quiet first half with both teams only having a couple of half chances. They scored just after half time and we replied within a couple of minutes. We struggled all game and it got a much harder challenge to get something from the game when Dempster got Sent off for a bad tackle in the penalty box.

Annan – Home – League – 1st V 10th

Annan gave us our first defeat of the season after they beat us 2-1. An early goal from us within the first 10 minutes thanks to Marlow. We was the better team all game but couldn’t get the ball in the net. Disappointed to lose when we was the better team and felt we deserved more from this game.

Peterhead – Home – League – 2nd V 6th

A game in which seen little chances from either side. We took the win in an even game. We deserved the 3 points and thankfully we got them.

Albion Rovers – Away – League – 3rd V 2nd

A poor performance from us the whole game seen us lose to Albion Rovers. Albion got the win in an even game and they deserved it. We struggled to create chances all game.

Arborath – Away – League – 6th V 4th

A shocking performance from us seen us go 2-0 down within the first 10 minutes. This is our worse performance all season and we didn’t even have a shot on target and only had 3 shots all game. Another game where we created very little. I was angry with the way the lads played this game and they knew about it at full time.

Forfar – Home – League – 5th V 9th

A boring game with neither team looking like they would get the win until we got 2 goals in the last couple of minutes. We limited them to not having a shot on target. Pleased to get back to winning ways after a couple of poor performances and results.

Cup Draw..

We get drawn against Albion Rovers in a cup game again. I am hoping that we can knock them out of another cup. We should be able to progress but I won’t take them lightly after they beat us not long ago.

We have been taken over! They have cleared all the clubs debts. I have had a message about my role at the club but I am hoping that they will stay behind me and keep me at this club.

The table after 8 games..

We have been in and round the play-offs and automatic place all season but after a couple of poor results have seen us drop a couple of places and just out side the play-offs on goal difference. If we keep playing how we did in the first few games then I don’t see a reason why we can’t have a serious challenge at the automatic spot. I am satisfied with where we are currently in the league but we can improve and will hopefully move back up the league. We are only 3 points from top with a long way to go.

Caldwell is currently our top goalscorer with 4. He is one ahead of about 2 or 3 players. Sean Burns has had a good start to the season at left back and currently has the highest average rating.

Up next..

Our next next 4 games sees us go up against teams around us and a cup game. I will not take any game for granted in this league as anyone can beat anyone. If we can pick up a good haul of points from the next few games then we will be right up there at the top of the league.

Thanks for reading!
