Start Of The Season

Alright guys,

We shall be looking at the transfers I have made so far as well as looking at the pre-season results and playing the first few league games of the season. I am hoping we have a good start and can build on from that once the new boys have settled in.

Transfers

Frazer Shaw:

Frazer comes in to challenge for the left back spot. He is a player that can improve and could become or first choice in a season or two.

Jordan Wynter:

I have signed Jordan in personal saves and he does a good job at this level despite what the scouts say about him.

Jack Bainbridge: – Loan

Jack comes in on a season long loan from Everton as a centre back or right back option. He is currently injured so I will bed him in slowly.

Dale Gorman: – Loan

We have signed Dale on a season long loan from Stevenage as one of our centre midfielders. Another player with good base stats and he can only improve.

Devarn Green:

Devarn is another player i have signed in personal saves and he smashes it at this level and can easily get 30-40 goals a season. He is rapid and with a bit of training can be even more deadly in front of goal.

Paul Mullin: – Loan

He comes in on a season long loan from Morecambe to help our attacking options as I felt we lacked a little in that area.

Ollie Palmer: – Loan

Ollie is another striker we have brought in and he comes on a season long loan from Leyton Orient. his finishing isn’t the best but other stats make up for that and at this level he is a a good standard of player.

Channing Campbell-Young:

Channing can play at centre back or right back but he will mainly be used as our right back which is one of the positions we lacked in.

Lee Trundle:

The veteran Lee comes in as a back up striker as he won’t play that many games but he has good stats and hopefully he can help the young players. I will maybe look at seeing if he will join the coaching staff when he retires.

Pre-season

pre-season

A pretty average pre-season from us as I felt we could of won a couple more games than what we did. Although pre-season for me is about getting the players match fit. Result of pre-season has got to smashing Scunthorpe 5-2!

Bromley – Away – League – 5th V 21st

The season begins and what a way to start it! A dominant performance from start to finish seen us score 6. Debut goals from Cook, Mullin and Green helped us on our way. Bromley scored with their only shot on target which was slightly disappointing.

Barrow – Home – League – 1st V 14th

A good performance from us but we didn’t take our chances and that cost us the win. Both of their goals came from two counter attacks which has highlighted a problem in our defence. We got the share of the points late on thanks to two goals from Mullin.

Eastleigh – Home – League – 4th V 18th

A poor performance from us meant we lost our first game of the season. Another game in which we didn’t take our chances and again it cost us points. Eastleigh looked the better team in the second half and killed the game off. Hughes got injured this game and will be out for 4-5 weeks.

Boreham Wood – Away – League – 21st V 4th

A slow start from us but we seemed to get going after we went behind. Gorman and Green helped turn the result around in the first half. A quiet second half seen us see out the win at get the 3 points after 2 poor results.

Loan Signing

Wright comes in on loan from Sunderland to fill in just behind the strikers after Hughes got injured and will be out for a few weeks.

Maidstone – Home  – League – 4th V 18th

We went behind early on after Gorman gave away a penalty with a poor tackle in the 8th minute. The second half was much better and we came out a different team scoring 3 goals and giving us the win. Palmer got his first goal for the club and then got injured and is out for 3-4 weeks.

A fairly slow start from us which is slightly annoying after such a dominating opening game despite us having won 3 out of our 5 games. We are still up at the top of the table and it is still early in the season so there are no concerns just yet. We will improve and I am hoping to bring in a couple more additions to help the defence out. It is going to be a long hard season and every game is going to be tough. The new boys have settled in superbly and have had a positive effect on the team and have contributed well so far.

Thanks for reading and I hope you are enjoying it.

  1. I’m currently doing a Tranmere save of my own and signed a player from Boston Utd called Liam agnew, in league one now and he’s still performing very well. You can usually pick him up on a free cause he’s not on a contract, also signed Ethan Robson from sunderland who plays really well as a DLP (D) James norwood is a star at this level and can play league 1 football also
