Alright guys,

We continue our journey with Tranmere and we are on course to win the league and potentially book our place in to the final of the FA Trophy if we win a couple of games. Not bad for the first season?

Bromley – Home – League – 1st V 23rd

Devarn Green opens the scoring in the 37th minute with a nice finish after skipping past the last defender and curling it past the keeper. Palmer doubled our lead just before half time after getting on the end of a cross and heading it past the keeper. Bogle got the third shortly before the final whistle and again it coming from him getting on the end of a cross and heading it in to the corner.

Eastleigh – Away – League – 1st V 7th

Eastleigh break the deadlock just before the half hour mark. They then double their lead in the 41st minute after some sloppy play from our defence gifting them the chance to score. Eastleigh then wrapped up the win with a third in the second half when our defence went to sleep and again gifted them a chance to score with a one v one which they converted. A poor performance from the lads this game.

Boreham Wood – Home – League – 1st V 13th

Mullin opens the scoring with his 14th of the season inside 5 minutes after he gets on the end of a low cross from Campbell-Young and diverts it past the keeper. Boreham equalize from a corner which was disappointing. A quiet second half with little goal mouth action means the game ended a draw frustratingly. We should of won this game.

Macclesfield – Home – FA Trophy 4th Round

A very boring game with neither team creating any serious chances to take the lead and progress in the cup. A very hard fought game against Macclesfield who are struggling in the league didn’t show that in this game. It was disappointing not to be able to create many chances. We had a couple of half chances from Mullin and Green but nothing came of them.

Macclesfield – Away – FA Trophy 4th Round Replay

A much better performance a few days later sees us ease past Macclesfield 3-1. Wright opens the scoring 5 minutes before half time after some nice play around the edge of their box and Wright finishes it by slotting it in to the corner. Wright crosses the ball in to Mullin who gets on the end of it and nods it past the keeper to make it 2-0. Green makes it 3 when he breaks clear of the defence and cooly puts it past the keeper in a one v one. Macclesfield pull one back later after a scramble in the box but it was to late for them to come back in to the game.

Cup Draw

We are in to the semi final and we come up against Braintree who are in our league. A good chance to get in to the final of the cup and maybe win it!?

Chester – Away – League – 1st V 9th

Wright gets his gets his second goal in as many games with a worldie of a free kick that flew in to the top corner and the keeper had no chance of saving it. We get a penalty late in the first half which Mullin wanted to take a he scored by blasts it down the middle of the goal. Chester pull one back in the second half with a tidy finish after they played it around our defence. Bogle made it 3 after a nice one two with Green and slots is past the keeper in to the bottom corner. Mullin gets his second of the game late on when he heads it in after a decent cross from Campbell-Young.

A mixed bag of results in a last few games with some poor performances. A poor result against Eastleigh ended our good league form. We struggled against Boreham and it took two attempts to beat Macclesfield in the cup.

We play Forest Green next which is a big game and could be a title deciding game. We also play our semi final games in the FA Trophy along with a couple of league games which we should get through quite comfortably.

We are still sitting pretty at the top with a slight gap to Forest Green who are hot on our heels and with them coming up next is a big chance for us to make the gap bigger and be more comfortable. We have scored the most in the league which is pleasing on one hand but on the other we have conceded the most in the top three which is slightly worrying.

Green is still top goalscorer despite only scoring a couple in the last few games which hasn’t really bothered us as we have other players stepping up and getting the goals. Wright is assist man with the most assists for us and in the league I believe.

Star Player:

The star player of this update is Daniel Wright. Our loanee has impressed this season after signing on loan from Sunderland. He is always in the right place to score or put another player through on goal. He is another player I will be looking at trying to keep next season. He can play anywhere down the middle of the field but he fits our formation perfectly sitting just behind the strikers.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy. Up next is a possible title decider! I am also thinking of doing a bumper update next time from now till the end of the season.
