We begin our adventure in the Football League after our championship winning season in the National League. There has been plenty of ins and outs as well as plenty of goals in the pre-season games. My assistant has been taking charge of the games while I have concentrated on bringing in new players as well as trying to get players to stay and try and move some on. I will go through most of our new signings as well as a quick overview of the results of pre-season.
Bright Enobakhare: Season long loan
Niall Ennis: Season long loan
I feel we have brought in players that have improved the squad. I know we have had a big over haul of players but most of them were needed to help with the step up along with some players unwilling to renew their contracts. We have missed out on a fair few of our targets and we have also had a few players on trial over pre-season but they wasn’t good enough for the squad so nothing has come of them.
A tough draw for us going up against Leeds. Possibly one of the biggest and hardest teams we could of got means we will have to play above and beyond to knock them out of the cup and we progress.

We had a good pre-season apart from the result against Coventry which in truth is expected considering. I’m pleased to see all the boys are ready or nearly ready for the season and they are all in good spirits.
There are some good teams in the league this year which is going to make it a long hard fight and we have to perform our best every game to ensure we can get the best possible result against every team. There are 5 or 6 teams that are better than this league and they should lock out the play-offs. Going in to the season we are 13th favourites for the league at 40-1 which is a lot higher than what I thought we would be so it proves that our signings this summer have improved us.
I really don’t know what to expect of us yet and if we could win 3 of our 5 opening games then that will be a success and will be a step in the right direction. My first aim is despite the season preview I want survival.
This was just a quick update for you to see how we have done this summer as we begin our season in League 2.
