Hey guys, welcome back to the latest update in my journeyman career. It is coming up to the half way point of the second season where we are still at Queen’s Park. I have been here for around a season and I feel the team I have now is a lot stronger than what it was when I first joined. The team now is more my team than when we obviously first joined.

Berwick – Away – League – 3rd V 4th

berwick.png

The first half was boring and offered nothing apart from a chance from us got cleared off the line. A poor second half from us gave them the win. We had one shot on target all game and scored from it.

Forfar – Away – League – 7th V 5th

forfar

A quiet first half. A pretty even game and we got the only goal of the game thanks to Norris late on. We looked better than what the stats suggest.

Elgin City – Home – League – 4th V 3rd

elgin.png

A shocking performance from us sees us take a fairly heavy defeat. It was personally an embarrassing performance all round. Despite our goal late on we offered nothing of serious chances and Elgin thoroughly deserved the win and the 3 points.

Cove Rangers – Home – League – 5th V 10th

cove.png

A fairly even game in the first half with half chances. Donald got his first goal for us with a nice finish from just inside the box. We looked much better in the second half and controlled pretty much the whole game.

Montrose – Away – League – 5th V 4th

montrose

We conceded within the first 5 minutes which took us by surprised and rattled us. Montrose dominated the game and deserved the win. Despite us getting back in to the game twice we really didn’t look like getting anything from the game.

Albion Rovers – Home – League – 5th V 6th

albion

We got off to a slow start. Once we got going we looked the much better team despite our defence being all over the place in this game. It was a fairly even game and we looked the better team and got our 2nd, 3rd and 4th goal to take the 3 points.

New Signings

Daniel Tobin – Goalkeeper

tobin.png

We bring in Daniel as one of our goalkeepers got injured for a couple of months. He isn’t the best keeper but he will come in and do a job for us when needed.

Grant Drummond – Centre Back

drummons.png

Grant comes in as back up. He has average stats for this kind of level. He will get his chance. He may surprise me but he may not get many games, he will be a back up for us.

Leszek Nowosielski -Attacking Midefielder

pole.png

Leszek comes in as we don’t have many midfielders and he can play anywhere across the middle and can play upfront if we needed him. He isn’t great but he will help contribute to the game.

Ryan Nisbet – Striker

nisbet.png

We bring in Ryan as a striker who will hopefully be able to help us push forward quicker with his pace. His first touch and finishing could be a bit better but we could work on that.

Stirling – Away – League – 9th V 4th

stirling

We played a couple of the new boys today, gave them a run out to see what they can do. The first half was pretty average with neither team threatening either goal. A poor performance from us sees us lose fairly late on in the game.

Annan – Away – League – 5th V 4th

annan

An early goal from us gave us the confidence to go on and get a couple more. A good first half from us sees us go in 3-0 ahead. A poor second half from us sees Annan score 2 and get back in to the game. A game of two halves but an even game overall.

New Signings

Owen Gallacher – Striker

gallacher.png

Owen comes in on loan from Newcastle till the end of the season. He is pretty average for this level and his stats are fairly well rounded for his age. Will get him involved and see what he can do for us.

Callum Harrison – Defensive Midfielder

harrison.png

Another loan signing. Callum comes in on loan from Colchester till the end of the season. We don’t have a defensive midfielder currently and he has come in to fill that gap should I revert to my tactic that needs it. He can also play Centre midfield so he may still get game time his technical’s are not the best but he should cope at this level.

Paul Archibald – Winger

archibald.png

Paul comes in after having a trial with us. His physical and first touch is what swung it for me to bring him in. His crossing is ok but will work on that and he will hopefully start challenging for the first team.

We have signed players to boost the numbers as we have just enough for the starting 11 and bench and the youth players are not quite ready yet.

Arbroath – Home – League – 4th V 9th

arbroath

This was a pretty even end to end game. A fair result with neither team looking like they would win it. Disappointed with this result.

Berwick – Home – League – 4th V 2nd

berwick 2 1-1.png

They had a penalty saved within the first 10 minutes. I don’t know how we came out of this with a point. Berwick should of beat us. Disappointed to concede in injury time.

Forfar – Home – League – 4th V 7th

forfar 2 3-1

We came from behind after 20 minutes after we conceded within 10 minutes. Gallacher got his goal on his debut. We looked average this game. The past few games we seem to start off slowly.

Table

table.png

So after 28 games we sit 4th just inside the play-offs. There is a slight gap forming between us and Annan in 5th and with only 8 games to go we are looking more likely to finish in the play-offs this season, although anything can happen in this league. We could also win the league if we go unbeaten till the end of the season but that will not happen! At the start of the season I was kind of hoping we would be fighting for the play-off places this season and that is what we have done.

Stats

stats.png

Norris has come in and done superbly with scoring 12 goals. Also only having 1 red card this season is pretty pleasing.

Remaining Games..

final 8.png

The remaining games see us finish playing the team currently below us and above us. I would be happy if we picked up 12-15 points. That would help us cement our place in the play-offs as I can’t see us winning all of our remaining games.

Side note

B license.png

I have now got my national B license after completing the course. I am happy at Queen’s Park for the time being but hopefully this will help me push and get that job at a higher level. I have had a couple of interviews for teams in the Vanarama National league and the Vanarama North league, but they pick someone else over me. Forfar did offer me an interview but I declined it as I don’t see them as a step up. I did say I probably wouldn’t stay here long but the longer I’m here the more I like the club, staff, players etc.. I will move on if the right opportunity arises but for now I’m fully behind taking Queen’s Park as far as I can.

I hope you are enjoying this save and thanks for reading.
