Hey guys,

Our journey with Queen’s Park continues as we go in to this season as one of the favourites and currently we are there or there abouts with the play-offs. Can we win the league? Can we get in the play-offs? Will we bottle it? Lets find out as we come up to the half way point in the season!

Ins/Outs

We have just the one in and no outs.

Stuart Peat:

Peat comes in on loan from Carlisle after having been on trial with us for a few weeks. A couple of our strikers have been struggling of late and are not taking their chances when given to them in the first team. Stuart is a player who will maily be used as sub/back up to Caldwell and Biddulph. His stats are not the best but hopefully he can do a job when given the chance.

Stirling – Away – League – 4th V 5th

stirling

Despite the stats saying Stirling were the better team, we was the better of the teams and we controlled the game and won it comfortably.

Cove Rangers – Away – League – 5th V 3rd

cove

We conceded early and that pretty much summed up the way the game would go. We were the better team and we didn’t deserve to lose this game and on another day we would of took our chances. The goals we conceded were scrappy and could easily of been avoided.

Elgin – Home – League – 4th V 1st

A game we won after dominating from start to finish. We went 2-0 up within the firsr 15 minutes which was pleasing. A good performance against the then league leaders.

Albion Rovers – Home – Scottish Cup 2nd Round

albion-cup

We left it late but we got the winner in the 84th minute thanks to Caldwell to send us through to the next round. An even game overall with neither team being clinical in front of goal.

Cup Draw…

cup draw.png

The draw sees us go up against Cove Rangers who are in our league and not long ago beat us in the league. I am hoping we can improve our performance and get revenge on them and carry on our cup run. It won’t be an easy game to say the least.

Annan – Away – League – 7th V 3rd

A quiet first half became an action packed second half with us getting our two goals and taking the 3 points home. A quality performance from us and we controlled the game.  We went top of the league after this result temporarily until others played.

East Fife – Home – League – 3rd V 10th

east fife.png

East Fife came out the traps quicker and took the game to us in the first  few minutes of the game. We got our goal and from that we seemed to grow in to the game. We conceded early in the second half and that seemed to knock us after are good first half and East Fife went on to get two late goals and get the win. We didn’t deserve to lose this game and I was annoyed and disappointed we couldn’t get something from this.

Albion Rovers – Home – League – 3rd V 2nd

albion-league

A bore draw game in which we looked average and second best to every ball. Happy to take a point away from this game. We had one shot on target all game which says everything about our performance this game.

Peterhead – Away – League – 10th V 3rd

peterhead.png

An avaerage performance this game we got the 3 points thanks to a late winner from Archibald. It was a pretty even game and was a much harder game than we expected. Pleased to of got the win against bottom of the league.

Cove Rangers – Away – Scottish Cup 3rd Round

cove-cup

Good performance from us right up until they got the first goal of the game and that ruined us. We seemed to lie down and let them win and knock us out of the cup. Disappointed with our performance.

Arbroath – Home – League – 3rd V 4th

arbeoath.png

An early goal from us thanks to Nowosielski which was also his first goal for the club. A good performance from us overall until the keeper dropped the ball from a corner and let them shoot in to an empty net to get a late consolation goal.

Cove Rangers – Home – League – 3rd V 6th

cove league 2.png

A shocking first half performance from us seen us go 2-0 down with in the first 23 minutes. Kuznecovs was suspended for this game and we missed him massively at the back massively. We got back in to the game in the last 10 minutes of the game when it was to late.

Forfar – Away – League – 7th V 3rd

forfar.png

We was very poor this game despite looking good on the stats. We struggled to take our chances. Peat got his first goal for the club.

Stirling – Home – League – 3rd V 6th

stirling 2.png

Stirling got the win in a fairly even game. We was poor first half and seemed to look a bit better in the second half until Stirling got their goals. Mullen got a late consolation for us. We had 2 shots on target which is not good enough for us if we want to be up there with the top 4/5.

Table

table

The table sees us sit in 3rd place, 7 points off top spot. Our run of form recently has been shocking. We have to improve if we want to get out of this league this year. If we hadn’t dropped silly points we would be more comfortable in our position with a bigger gap to the teams below us. On a positive we sit 3rd after playing pretty average for most of the games which means there is more to come from us and better performances in result hopefully and the gap to the top two isn’t big enough to worry about and we can easily close in to them if we start winning more regularly.

Remaining Games..

I am hopeful we can kick on in the last half of the season and make a real push for promotion. No game will be easy and we will have to up our performances as I have said before.  We will take it game by game.

Stats/Side Notes

stats.png

Caldwell is our top goalscorer with 7. He is slowly becoming our starting striker. He has come off the bench a couple of times and got a late winner or two which is impressing. I am hoping we don’t lose him like we lost Norris as he is on an amateur contract. Kuznecovs seems to get booked every game like Mampuya seemed to last season. Paul Woods is currently our assist machine with 10 assists in about as many games.

I am starting to slowly bed in some youngsters by bringing them off the bench for the last 20/30 minutes every now and then. We have had a couple of players on trial but they haven’t set the world a light so we wont be following them up. We are still looking at bringing a couple more players in to help us push on. No targets as of yet have been the perfect match for us but we can’t be picky in this league. We do have a centre midfielder joining us in January from Gretna I believe but that may be wrong. Hopefully he will push for that position with Kelly whose performances have dropped as of late.

I have had a couple of interviews with English clubs but they choose to appoint other managers. Is that because I’m at a club or my compensation is to high? Who knows. I think that if we don’t get promoted this season then I may hand in my resignation at the end of the season in search of a ‘bigger’ club to help forward my career and theirs. Although I may stay and continue to build with this club as we are becoming bigger and better compared to when we first joined.

Anyways I am probably boring you now so thanks for reading and I hope you are enjoying it!
